Train up your child in the way he should go . . . Proverbs 22:6
Those who have homeschooled their children will testify to the rewards and benefits of teaching the biblical way. When experienced homeschoolers are asked if they would do it again, they give a resounding, "Yes!"
By teaching your children in your home, you create memories that you would never have if you sent them away to be trained by strangers each day.
Who are the best people to teach your children? Why, it's you, their parents.
You are the best qualified teacher for your children because they are yours. Others may help you along this journey, such as a music teacher, a dance academy or extended family, but you are the primary source of your child's education, and you have been anointed by God to give them just what they need.
This is where faith comes in. The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17 When we obey God, He steps in and provides for our needs. If we can't see the money we need now, we only need to obey His Word, and He will provide. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
Children are given by God to nurture, raise and train. When parents find they come to the end of their patience, they can connect with God in a deeper way to employ His patience, which never ends. Having a support group of fellow homeschool parents is an important part of making the journey fun and educational not only for your children, but for you also. Teaching your children at home builds their character and yours too!
In institutional learning there are often negative factors which cancel the efficacy of an educational system. One of these is bullying, which is a major problem. Teaching your children at home protects them from this type of harassment, but what about your child's need for socialization?
There are many ways to add socialization to homeschooling. Your children can be involved in dance, sports, 4H, YMCA, art classes, music lessons and performance, karate, gymnastics, and clubs. The list is as large as your child's interests.
